100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo

Halow ~ Doraemon fans! 

I'm sure by now most of you should have known that there's this expo on Doraemon's secret gadgets. If you're still unaware of it... Yes! It's happening at Johor Bahru City Square from now till 04 January 2015!

Sam, Wendy & myself decided to make a trip to Johor Bahru last Sunday. We met up at Kranji MRT & hop onto bus 170 to cross the causewayWefie in the busCrossing the causeway =)Woo..  quite huge retail corner outside the expoSneak preview from level 3. Well, if you don't want to "get close" with hundreds of Doraemon, just stand round at higher levels to peep will do.Anyway, lunch at Taang Shifu before hitting the expo. Quite a elegantly built restaurant but the company's policy is "no photography" on the decorWe ordered a total of 4 dishes namely ~ Five Spices Seafood Hotpot (RM$29.90) ~ Home Braised Pork Belly in Dark Sauce (RM$22.90) ~ Steam Codfish with Dried Scallops (RM$32.90) ~ Broccoli with Sliced Abalone & Scallop (RM$23.90) ~ Dried Scallops & Petite Abalone Mixed Rice (RM$16.90). Food quality was pretty good & rather tastyAfter lunch, we head down to the expoWoots~Famous Amos so big here!Part of atrium is blocked off for the expoTicketing booth is located next to McDonald's at level 1Entry fee for adult is RM$25. At the entrance, the many "eye" of DoraemonWhen we reached, there is a photo-taking session with the mascots going on, but the session was ending soon & so we did not get the chance to take pictures with them. Well, fret not! Cos another appearance is scheduled at 3pm, which is just 90 mins away =D Thus, we decide to head direct to the area where there's lots of selfie/wefie corners while waiting for the mascots to appear again at 3pmLet's take a wefie before entering the Yellow Cat. Wait.. Yellow? Yes.. Yellow cat! But.. ... issn't Doraemon a blue cat?Well, read on!Doraemon is actually a yellow robotic cat whose ear got gnawed off by a robot mouse, causing him to have a fear in mouse =DHe slip into depression on top of a tower, where he drank a potion labelled "sadness", which augmented his depression to the point where, as he wept, his yellow paint washed off, and his voice deepened =D

And so.... Doraemon turns into a blue robotic cat without earWithout any further wait ... .. Let's travel to Doraemon's world in his Time MachineThe rest of the pictures need no caption =)haha.. quite a bit of photo-taking opportunitiesWe spent about an hour fooling around & ended at the merchandise corner 
Got a re-entry chop before leaving the expo to get some drinksThen we're back again cos it's almost time for the mascots appearance!Woohoo ~ the mascots are back! As we hang around near the stage, we manage to secure a photo-taking chance with the mascots. You are allowed to use your own camera/ phone to take pictures, but someone has to do that for you cos the crew doesn't help you in taking pictures. We were lucky to be able to get the girl standing behind us in the queue to help us take a group picture =)After taking picture with the mascots, we went around taking picture of the 100 secret gadgets!Haha... not quite easy to capture all 100 secret gadgets cos there is not number indication or anything, but yes.. I did =D

Honestly, I'm not really a true blue follower of Doraemon cos I do not have the luxury of watching TV program when I was a kid, so I don't really know the names & uses of the gadgets. But if you wanna know, here's the list of all Doraemon's gadgets!

But I super love this! I wish I have this Octopus so I can squirt the ink on all those WHguys and makes everyone hates them cos they're so freak irritating =DAnother gadget I wish I can have - Voodoo/ Cursing Camera! Say real one, I wish my camera has the same effect! Snap a picture of the person I hate & it will produce an identical voodoo doll. Do whatever shit to the voodoo doll & it'll affect the person I hate the similar way! hahaha.... damn.. since when I'm so evil? Well ...... don't blame me cos I'm being forced by lots of shitty people & circumstances After the expo, we went to the Doraemon pop-up cafe at level 5There's also some activities/ games to entertain the kidsWe ordered the Set A (Cappuccino/ Hot Chocolate + Lava Cake w/ice cream + Pancake) at RM$17.90. The lava cake was not bad; chocolaty & very flowy lava
Dessert so pretty must selfie lah =DThen we went to Hui Lau Shan for more desserts =DDesserts we had includes Snowy Lime Fruity Coconut Ribbon with Mango & Watermelon juice) ~ Mango Coconut Ribbon ~ Mango Sago Duet. We also ordered Curry Fishball & Signature Radish CakeThen went to buy Kuih Bahulu before heading back to Singapore. We left City Square about 6.15 pm, hoping to beat the crowd, but... ... we were totally wrong! Check out the mad crowd at JB Custom! gheezz~~~~ it took us an hour to clear the custom & another 45 mins for bus. Damn~ I guess this will be the one & only time we travel across the causeway on Sunday!

Anyway, the expo is still quite nice lah. Not sure if it'll be coming to Singapore, so if you're a fan of Doraemon, you might wanna make a trip to JB, but I would suggest you do it on a weekday. Oh, but then again, not sure if there will be mascots appearance on weekday. So.... ...
