National Day Dinner @ Royal Palm

Happy 48th Birthday, Singapore! 

We didn't manage to get our hands on the NDP ticket (again), so Sam suggested dinner on National Day. She saw this deal online sometime ago: Celebrate 48th National Day with Dinner & Catch Fireworks Live! from deal.com.sg, so she decided to dated us. Only myself, Wendy & her hubby; Angeline & her family joined Sam for this event. 

Wendy suggested wearing Red top, so I went to "ransack" my wardrobe for one & found this. Wanted to wear a White bottom but realize both my white short & skirt is stained with red patches when the previous maid washed it with a red short! Anyway since the top is kitted & see-tru, I wore a White top inside it whith a denim shorts.

Har! Since it's National Day, I decided to bring out my 18 year old Red Epi Leather Louis Vuitton. It's been long time since she's out!

Anyway, it's quite frustrating getting the the Singapore Flyers cos the road leading there from Esplanade is blocked. I end up making a huge detour just get to Singapore flyers

Dinner was at Royal Palm @ Singapore Flyers

Seated at the restaurant, while waiting for the buffet to start, helicopters with National Flag flew past, as well as the fighter jets

Buffet starts at 7pm & we quickly snap a few pictures before everyone rush for the food

Chinatown section includes Chinese cold combination; Sushi Maki; Soba Noodle and Oven baked rice with chicken and mushroom

Lau Pa Sat section includes Fried Hokkien Mee with Prawns & Cuttlefish, Chai Tao Kueh (Fried Carrot Cake) & Homemade Chilli crab

"Royal Palm Signature dish special" - Homemade Mushroom Soup

Satay Club Section includes Assorted Satay with Ketupat, Onion & Cucumber Served with Spicy Peanut Sauce, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Gado Gado with Homemade Peanut Sauce with Long Green Bean, Boiled egg, Tempeh,Tahu. Condiments includes Sambal Belachan & Keropok

Jalan Sultan section includes Indian Chicken Tikka, Saffron Rice, Assorted Naan, Stir fried Chilli Fish fillets & Mutton Ragan Josh

Olio Pasta with assortd muchroom

Dessert includes Mango pudding with longan, Cold sweet Cheng Tng, Ice kachang action station & Oriental Fresh Fruit Platters. However, the Ice Kachang station was removed after a while! 

Quite a lot of selections but unfortunately the food is either bland, too salty or overly sweet. 

After dinner, we were all finding a spot to catch Fireworks. I brought my mini tripod so that I can video the fireworks in ease =D

Fireworks started! I was a few steps away from my camera & quickly went to start my recording, but accidentally stepped on Jaycus who is standing behind me. Instead of starting the recording, I accidentally hit the "off" button

Just when we thought the fireworks are done since all the performers have already started marching out of the Floating platform, there is another display of fireworks! 

And out of sudden, another display of fireworks! Didn't have time to activate the video recording, so quickly snap a few pictures. 

Ok, the whatever tree there is a super spoiler! I hope you get a good view of the fireworks.

Angela's belated Birthday Treat @ Hibiki Singapore Flyer

Belated birthday treat for Angela whose birthday falls on 17th.. was asking Angela if she's got any preference, & she opt for Japanese food.. as usual, i was arrowed to look for a place to eat.. 

did a search using www.hungrygowhere.com & found quite good reviews on this Japanese restn, Hibiki @ Cuppage. Called them few times on Wed but no one pick up the phone, & decided to check if i got the correct num using the singtel directory.. only got to know that the cuppage branch is close for reno, so end up booking the one at Singapore Flyer

thanks arh, all the 3 of them dunno how to get to the flyers & i have to provide them with directions.. but i myself got onto the wrong bus at orchard road, missed the bus stop outside esplanade (opp Fullerton), alight at the nxt stop (opp Hitachi Tower), end up taking cab from there back to the flyers.. hahahaha

ok, back to the rest.. erm, its 7.45pm but only 3 tables are occupied (yes, including us), so.. dunno if its really worth trying.. we opt for the adult buffet which cost $28.90++ per head.. quite a reasonable price but buffet menu is quite limited.. food were served pretty fast , & our table is soon flooded with food.. hahaha.. and just like the reviews from hungrygowhere, the food are nice lor.. worth trying =)

after dinner, we went over to BK Whopper Bar to take a look at the new concept BK.. **muslims, pls forget abt gg there cos this is NOT Halal.. they do sell beer! but i like the open concept where u can see the staff while they prepare ur burger!

dunno if it's becos old liao, we wanted to go for a drink but cant seem to find a suitable pub, and so we end up at coffee club.. no cake for Angela cos she say she test cake in offc till she wanna puke.. lol

anyway... ... Happy Belated Birthday, Angela.. hope u enjoy the dinner, & dun forget tt its ur turn to treat me nxt mth.. haha
