milkfrost's world

The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Teo Heng KTV, Chupitos & 小陳故事肉骨茶 - Mel's Birthday!

Mel's birthday is around the corner, so we planned full-day activity to celebrate for her =)

We met up for KTV at Teo Heng at 12pm!

Haha.. very old-school booking system!

Super cheap rates too!

Can drinks are all priced at only $1. Tidbits are available too, but it's not compulsory to buy drinks & tidbits here

Cos you are allowed to bring your own food & drinks, but not durian lah =D

Touch screen for choosing the songs.

Now, let's sing to our heart's content! While one sing, the others camwhore =)

I think our pictures are too decent, so one crazy picture. While Ivy sings, I eat grapes =D

Since Mel's birthday is around the corner, we bought her a cake. I was the first to reach Plaza Singapura before coming KTV, I went to buy a cake for her, on behalf of all the girls =)

Was deciding between Awfully Chocolate & Rive Gauche, and I decided on Guanaja from the latter, which proofs to be a wise choice cos the girls loves it =)

Happy Birthday, Mel =)

Group Pix =)

After KTV, the girls went for dinner at Clark Quay while I met up with Wendy & Sam for Durian Mobilization 2014 at Hong Lim Park

Met up with the girls again my their dinner; my durian feast at The Chupitos Bar for a drinking session

The very cool table decals

The girls ordered 1 each to start the ball rolling but slightly regretted that they didn't order more during happy hours =D

Cheers to our friendship!

Then we shifted into bar when there's an available table

Round 2!

Feeling hungry, we ordered some munchies. Cuttlefish balls cos Ivy & myself loves it

Truffle Fries which is surprisingly good

Still feeling hungry, we left The Chupitos & went for supper at 小陳故事肉骨茶

Found a very retro radio which is still in use!

Food for 5 at 11.30 pm?! No... The mee suah, pig liver + kidney soup & braise pig intestine is for me alone! The rest of the 5 small side dishes are shared by the 4 girls =D

It was kind of a full day out for all of us but we enjoyed ourselves much.

Once again... ... Happy Birthday, Mel & stay pretty always =)

Durian Mobilization 2014

Dr Leslie Tay from ieatishootipost has been organizing Durian Mobs since 2008, with the simple idea of having a durian appreciation course to educate durian lovers on the different cultivars of durians.

This year, the event was supported by Singapore Kindness Movement. Ticket is priced at $38 & this year's beneficiary will be The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund

This year, the event was held at Telok Ayer Green CC, Hong Lim Park

The event venue was already packed with people by the time we reached at about 6.45 pm

We are supposed to find our group of 10 & the volunteers were quick in finding us a "table"/ group

Group no.19 - This is also my favorite number!

Us =)

Dr Leslie Tay & Dr William Wan giving an introduction & thank you speech before the durian feast starts

Plastic bags were also provided to all groups for disposing the durian husks

After the opening speech, here comes the durians!

Volunteers helping to give out the durians

Must-do! Take a Durian selfie =D

The D24

Dr Leslie says "When you're moody, eat a durian" ..

I agree!

But... ... "When you're happy, eat a durian too!" =D

Dr Leslie then invited Ah Seng (the durian supplier) up to the stage to give everyone a briefing on how to choose a good durian & a real Cat Mountain king 猫山王

After which, we were presented the King of the King - Cat Mountain king 猫山王! These are harvested in the morning & immediately imported to the event!

The quality of all the durians were pretty good

Ah Seng also throw in some Mangosteens for the event

The Mangosteens are very pretty & sweet =)

Someone asked me if the event is worth going, I would say... ... it depends on how you look at it. The durians are quantity over quality & for the fact that it's partially for charity, it's definitely worth going.
