Mishap!

hohoho.. not only I'm down with sore throat & cough, I also slightly sprain my left ankle, causing it to be slightly swollen 

went Raffles Medical at Lot1 in the morning to get medication for sore throat & cough

Left ankle a bit swollen due to new + old injury

Went to the 跌打 at Beauty World but all of them opens only at 4pm, so I went to the one at Keat Hong Shopping Centre

After rubbing the medication on the ankle, the sin-seh pasted the black medication on my ankle & leave it there to "BBQ" 

Than he only use a medicated plasted that looks like Salom Pass & pasted on the black medication

The sin-seh also gave a small bottle of medication & asked apply the medication on the affected area after I remove the dressing 2 days later

introducing.. human-pig trotter!

Was supposed to be at Orchard 6am for the Desaru Durian Trip on Sunday, but only woke up at 6am when Sam sms me! 

siao liao lah.. so I quickly cheong toilet to brush teeth & wash face.. then when changing, i dialed for cab at the same time. Thankfully, I got a mercedes cab very quickly & within 5min, I zoom out of the house! 

When I got to the void deck, the cab is there already! But... ... a stupid couple hijack my dialed-cab! I ran after the cab & without realizing there's a slope thr, I fell & sit on the floor! then the cab suddeny reverse, & the couple alight frm the cab. Quickly hop on the cab & zoom to Orchard! 

Cabbie was kind enff to drive slightly faster & i managed to get there abt 6.20am & the thankfully, the coach driver waited for me without driving off! or else, my sprain would have been wasted! 

Really glad that the coach driver waited for me! or rather, must thank Sam for smsing me & asking the driver to wait for me! 

anw, thinking it wasn't very serious, i went ahead to the trip & happily walking the huge fruit farm! but after the fruitfarm, my human leg has turned to mini-pig trotter & i was limping all the way liao! 

when i reach home, the mini-pig trotter has turned to adult-pig trotter! maid quickly asked me to soak my feet into hot water while she prepare ginger+rice & applied on my swollen foot! 

and her kampung formula actually helped to relieve the swell & pain by a bit.. 

went chinese physician in the afternoon after settling the mth-end rpts at work, then went raffle medical to get mc for my sprain.. mc for 2 days, but will see how it goes after changing of dressing tday..

Now I'm forced to use fake eyelash!

Yesterday when i was re-doing my makeup after shower, i created the biggest joke of the year! 

what happen? 

My eyelash curler ripped off almost half of my pathetically thin & little eyelash from my right eye!

how it happen? 

I was curling my eyelash after the 1st layer of mascara, and before i let go of the curler, i moved my finger (together with the curler) to reach for the mascara to apply the 2nd layer.. immediately, i feel a sharp pain & realize i pulled the curler away when i was still curling my eyelash! 

kwang kwang.. 

my right eye become half botak!

then i panic... shit! what have i done?? and what should i do?? 

i started to search frantically for fake eyelash lah... then finally found one pair but no glue.. continue to search again, finally found a pair with a glues in it! happy lah.. but the problem is... ... i have nvr use fake eyelash before lor.. how? 

then i jus chin-chye-chin chye apply some glue in the lash & chin-chye-chin-chye stick the fake eyelash on my eye.. 

my first kan-cheong attempt to use fake eyelash took me abt 3mins to stick both side! 

when i showed my sis after i got home from dinner, she say "wah, not bad leh.. i din even now u use fake eyelash.. lol"

now im left with no choice but to use fake eyelash everyday till i secure an appt for eyelash extension.. lol

Leaving my abnormal muscle alone

Went to meet the international radiologist this morning and he spoke to me on the procedure tt's gg to take place tmr morning.. this is what he'll do:

1. run some test to find out which is the main blood vessel supplying blood to the excessive blood vessels in the muscle

2. run another test to see if my blood will reject the chemical tt they'll be injection into the main blood vessels - if it rejects, it'll shoot right up to my heart, which they dunno what will be the complications few yrs down the road! 

3. if my blood dun reject the chemical, they'll go ahead with the procedure.. tt is to inject the chemical into the main blood vessel to irritate the excess blood vessels in the muscle & BURN the excess blood vessels

but hor.. by injecting the chemical into the muscle, it'll cause my skin around the area to discolour! (i dun wan to look like MJ leh.. heehee)

and the estimated cost? $1.8k! ya lah, its cheaper than Raffles Hospital (RH quote $4k for this precedure, $8k for surgery)... but.. he cant gurantee tt the excess blood vessels will not grow again! even surgery to remove the muscle oso cant remove all the excess blood vessels

cant make use of medisave to make partial payment oso cos its not surgery.. gov subsidise only the bed, not for this injection cos its done by xray dept, so its consider as private!

honestly, i cant afford the medical bill! hoho..and yah, i've got no insurance to claim from & im cash poor.. 

okay, and even if i have the cash.. i dont think i wanna spend tt much $$ to inject chemical into blood or surgery to remove the excess blood vessels but it will still grow again in my muscle sooner or later

so... after much consideration, i decide to leave my abnormal muscle alone cos im just a poor office girl

Only the Rich can be sick

went polyclinic on 4th Aug to check wats wrong with my right forearm, and while waiting for appt at NUH on 17th Aug, i went to Raffles Medical Clinic (company panel) to see if they can schedule a earlier date for me to consult specialist.. went on 6th Aug & was scheduled for consultation with specialist at Raffles Hospital on 11th Aug

as the lump is causing pain, doc ask to do a MRI scan cos xray will not show the details.. but becos the cost of the scan is abt $750-$1k, they have to seek approval from IMI to see it's covered by company panel.. got a call from the clinic on 13th informing thet IMI had given the approval for the scan but as per contract, company is only paying 75% of the total bill (ok lah, better than nothing right?).. with the approval, an appt was fixed for me to go for MRI scan this morning..

im like a dead corpse lying inside there for motionless in the machine for like 20min, then out for injection & in again for more scans for another 20mins or so.. waited another 45mins for the report to be ready & back to the doc for advise

result of the report? 

its a collection of blood vessels in my muscle, meaning there's too many blood vessels growing ABNORMALLY in my muscle

doc's advise? 

option 1 - leave it alone if its not affecting my daily activity cos it'll not grow in the nxt few mths, or even yrs

option 2 - do an injection (of dunno wat) into the bloob vessels, helping it to spread or go away but the blood vessel will eventually grow again in the muscle.. its jus a matter of time

option 3 - go under the knife & remove the muscle if its affecting my hand badly.. after surgery, hand will be a little weaker but no prob in daily activity.. 

so he says its up to me to decide, but if i ask him for advise, he'll advise i go under the knife

lastly, before i leave the consultation room, he says 

"dun worry, its not cancerous & it'll not shorten ur life span".. lol

now the main thing is... the estimated cost of the surgery is close to $8k.. even after medisave, still need to pay like $4k+

was telling my sis, with my one time medical bill, she can give birth 2more times! no wonder doctors are so rich lor!! 

anyway, i haven cancel my appt with NUH on this coming monday.. so, im gonna check wat is the cost if i go under the knife at NUH.. probably will be cheaper lor.. 

sigh.. there's this saying "only rich people can fall sick" .. i think this is very true

Long wait at the polyclinic

i had this little lump on my right hand since young & once awhile when i sleep in a weird position, i'll wake up with a slight pain on the lump.. and the pain goes away in less than an hours time after i rub some zambuk on it.. but this time round, the pain is there since last wed and its not getting any better, no choice i have to take mc today cos the pain is unbearable

i know it's gonna be a long wait, but still i decided to go polyclinic.. thinking jus in case i need to go for xray, i can do it there on the same day.. waited 2hrs jus to consult a doctor and ... hohoho.. im out of the room in less than 5mins cos doctor says the lump could be due to muscle cramp or has got something to do with the muscle, and xray wont show anything and i have to go see a specialist at NUH! argh... i shld have jus gone to private clinic to get referral letter to see the specialist in NUH!

after waiting for 2hrs to consult doctoer, have to wait another 45mins jus to get packet of painkiller, a packet of pill to prevent gastric & a tube of gel to apply on the affected area.. argh.. waste my time!

the wait is really long lor.. luckily i brought my Nintendo DS, else i'll get bored to death..

but hor.. one stupid irritating uncle keeps making so much noise at the nurse cos he waited for 2hrs & its not his turn to see doctor yet.. complaining to those ppl seating beside him, making comments like

"wah, the wait is so long, like that all patients die oredi lor.. issit trainee doctor? iya, tell those trainee doctor to go other clinic lah".. 
super irritating lor.. really feel like asking him to shut up & wait lah.. if cannot wait, then go private clinic!

anyway.. the pain is still there while im typing away.. hopefully the painkiller & get works cos my appt with the specialist is only on 17th Aug

Jus realise I only took 3 days of MC from Jan 2008 - Nov 2008

But frm 11 Dec 2008 till 6 Jan 2009,
i took 5 days of MC within a month!

first it was gastric;
then it was fever due to swollen gum;
now i was down with fever, sorethroat & bad cough..

wah.. think if i were to take MC again within this month,
my boss sure scream at me!
