milkfrost's world

The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Milkfrost Handicraft | Crochet Headband

Since I managed to successfully crochet a granny square, I decided to try using the same method to crochet a headband
Using the crochet & stitch on the go method I found from youtube, managed to stitch 2 granny squares as I go along
From the youtube tutorial, it's supposed to be 8 squares but I do it with 9 squares & shorter tying string and I successfully crochet my first headband! Test fit and I think it looks quite nice, a little retro! Maybe I should make another one, but with a slightly thinner width.

Milkfrost Handicraft | Crochet Cup Holder

Started a new crochet project while I'm on staycation

Using the Starbucks X Ang Ku Kueh Girl cup holder as the size guide but a shorter handle strap as the weight of the drink will pull it a little.

Previously did a cup holder w/o strap, so this time I add on a strap
Test fit using my Guess blink blink cup but the strap seems a bit too short

Thus, I test fit again with a 16oz takeaway cup at work, fill it up with a bit of water & it seems good
Put it in use to takeaway my drink from MOS Burger & yeah, it fits pretty well. So I can now go tabao bubble tea without using their bags!

Milkfrost Handicraft | Crochet Granny Square

Was trying to crochet granny square cos it seems that a lot of stuffs can be done using granny square/ magic ring but I still can't get it after le bff showed me a couple of times
Thus, she draw up a "manual" for me!She keeps telling me to start with 6 stitches & increases to 12 but somehow, it turn out like this 😓Then it curl up on nxt trySome where there but the square doesn't seem to formSo I went to look at the stitches on the bag she gave me. Then I realized that something is wrong. She keeps telling me to start with 6 stitches & increase to 12 but this starts with 12!After watching a youtube video & rewatching the same video a couple of times, I finally managed to figure out how to get a granny square done! And I tried using 2 different colors & tadaa~~ my first crochet granny square! #slowlearner 😅 with a little achievement! Now I can slowly think of what to do 😂

Milkfrost Handicraft | Crochet Scrunchie

Back to crocheting scrunchie for my little friend cos her requested Elsa from Carol needs to wait for some time.
Evelyn says she's into purple these days, so I work with both the purple I have, and using a smaller band.Completed, but somehow feels that this looks more blue than purpleAnother purple yarn I hadFor this I only do it with a row of double crochet instead of the usual dc & sc.2 different sizes

Milkfrost Handicraft | Crochet Tissue Pouch

After crocheting a couple of scrunchies, I decided to try crochet something different.
Upon Sam's request, the new item on my list is a tissue pouch.Supposed to stich up both sides but ... ...I find the sides a bit too messy, I redo a new piece!Slightly better. At least the sides are quite straight.Using stitch needles to hold the patch in place. And so, tadaa~~ my first tissue pouch! So I tried doing a 2nd piece for WendyI think it's pretty good for 2nd attempt.Tada~~ done with the 2nd tissue pouch.
