We were at the 28th SEA Games Opening Ceremony a couple of days ago. Today, we are at the 28th SEA Games Closing Ceremony cos Theresa managed to get hold of the tickets.

Wendy & myself had a quick meal at Curry Times while waiting for Theresa's friends
The crowd was mad. A lot more people during opening ceremony
Our tickets
The green & red "man" is quite funny cos it cannot "stand straight" & it looks like they are dancing =D
The torch
A very blur picture
SEA country flags
I managed to get few slices of complimentary pizza for everyone.
The closing ceremony is a disastrous lah! Our tickets are for gate 3 but volunteers directed us all the way to direction towards gate 23. After screening clearance, we gotta walk all the way back to gate 3, which is almost like half the stadium. Then we were stuck at gate 3 for close to 15 mins.
When we finally got in, we spend another 15 mins walking around from block 103-112 trying to find seat, cos at least 20% of the seats are reserved for athletes. Then we were told to go up to block 600+ by stairs cos there are no more seats. Went up to level 6 by stairs and only managed to find seat after 15 mins cos they removed 2 huge banners. By the time we get seated, half the show is done already.
Many were being forced to stand/ sit on the staircase, and hundreds are being shut outside the gates. Horrible!
The entire stadium was chaotic! Terrible planning by the organizers.

And mass party at the end of the ceremony

Inside the fun pack, everything else is the same except that the medallion from opening ceremony fun pack is replaced by the souvenir medal
Both sides of medal
On a side note, Congrats Team Singapore for emerging in Top 3 at the end of the game. Once again, thanks Theresa for the tickets.

On the actual day, we met up at at Stadium MRT to catch the shuttle bus provided by event organizer to event venue

Center stage for the event
So yes, girls being girls... ... pictures from various cameras!

Pretty sunrise

Getting ready... ... ...
Go! While the girls zoom past me, I take a slow walk along the run route
But well, being slow has it's advantage too. I managed to catch some Sea Otters suntanning =)
But when I quietly walk towards them, they went back into the sea cos a group of slow runners behind me run towards them
Erm... it took me 25 mins to reach the 2KM mark =D
Nice scenery btween 2 - 3KM mark

Yeah.. finally see the finishing point
Finally crossed the finishing line!
Not sure about other races, but during Bare Your Sole 5KM walk, there were total of 3 water points in between & 1 at finishing end. But for this race, only 1 water point is being set-up at 2KM mark & 1 at the finishing end. Seriously, I feel a little dehydrated leh
Anyway, managed to finish the 5KM & got my first ever medal from running event

After race results - Despite zero exercise for the past few months + 90% walk & 10% jog on actual race day, I managed to finish 5KM in 55 mins. Not a bad achievement I supposed =D
Photobooth & instant print is available, with compliments from
Yahoo~ and my favorite Milo truck!
Milo truck has always been my favorite truck since young!
Then we continue to walk close to 2KM just to reach Kallang Wave for brunch cos shuttle service is only available one-way
This tower reminds me of my McDonald's days where we used to come here for late night drinks =)
Reached Kallang Wave quite early & most eatery & restaurants are not open yet, so we settle at Curry Times. Wah, so cool leh.. self ordering can save $1
Nostalgic flower biscuits, free for customers
Opt for Nasi Lemak. Not bad eat, but rice too much I only managed to finish half
