Menya Musashi | Dinner with Colleagues

An impromptu dinner date with colleagues at Menya Musashi cos May needs to wait for her boyfriend and she needs to fix some stuffs at Tampines Mall.

3 of us had 3 different types of soupI had the black (garlic) which is my favoriteMay tried the red (spicy) soup but feels it ain't spicyYin prefers the originalOther side dishes we hadHappy Dinner =)

Menya Musashi & Mado - Dinner w/Ivy

Impromptu dinner with Ivy & decided on Menya Musashi cos she has yet to try before. 

She had Seafood Ramen with Black (garlic) soup base & gyoza. Gyoza is quite good. Fillings inside is very juicy

I had Kodou Ramen with Red (Spicy) coup base & Chicken Kaarage. The red soup base is not spicy as I expected. Chicken Kaarage is tender but too oily

We also ordered Golden Mushroom Tempura which is very salty & oily. The oil also has this "over-due" taste & smell

We then went to shop around for a while before heading to Mado for dessert

Pomegranate Soda which is terribly sweet  

Waffles with Chocolate Ice Cream, Banana & Strawberries & Chocolate Sauce. Waffle is soft but turns soggy after awhile; Ice cream is a little too sweet & melts very fast; banana was sliced too thinly

Service at Mado is quite bad. 

When we ask the staff on what's the recommended dessert, the reply we get is "it's up to individual". Gheez.. what kind of answer is that? If you're not sure of what's the recommended dessert, I'm sure you know what's popular right? Or at the very least, let us know what's your own preference! When asked for ice water, staff only gave us 1 glass when obviously there is 2 of us. 

These are still not really that bad. The worst is, one of the staff who is having a flu was sniffing away when refilling our ice water. Not saying that she shouldn't be working, but she should at least wear a mask if she is sick. The next moment, Ivy saw her blowing her nose with tissue, and then went to grab a spoon for a customer by holding the shallow bowl of the spoon instead of the handle! Isn't she spreading the germs to others by doing so? 

Apart from the service, hygiene is another issue which we will not re-visit.

Menya Musashi & Teadot

Hazel has been raving about the ramen at Menya Musashi & so I went to give it a try after seeing her's & Sam's picture post on this

Jas had Tontoro Ramen

While I had Seafood Ramen, and we both choose the Black (garlic) soup base

Although a little oily, it was very sweet

Very interesting ramen cos it's in a shape of H at the side

We also ordered the following for sharing

Duck w/cucumber roll which taste exactly the same like those smoked duck found in supermarkets

After dinner, we went for dessert at teadot cafe

The enviornment

Cos I don't drink coffee, I ordered a Lollipop Earl Grey, which is actually Earl Grey with Butterscotch. I requested for less sugar but still is was very very sweet

Jas ordered a latte & requested for latte art. The barrister obliged with s smiley cat (^-^) 

Cakes & pastries are at 20% when you ordered a large cup of drink. I had the Lemon Meringue Tart which has a layer of dark chocolate at the bottom.
