The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Voodoos Meet-up with New Friends

Cindy is back and actively bringing in new members into her SuiYuan (I call it Voodoo) Group. We had a meet-up over the weekend for lunch at Siam Kitchen, followed by KTV at KBox Choa Chu Kang

Didn't take picture of everyone's food. Only took mine & Ivy's

Ivy's Siam Kitchen Basil Noodles $9.9 looks simple but it's flavorful.

My Tom Yum Seafood Horfun $9.9 is good. Sour & not too spicy. Very generous on the ingredients too.

Both Ivy & myself shared a portion of Tom Yum Seafood Soup $7.6

Red Ruby with Jackfruit & Coconut Ice Cream $6.9 is nice. Most places serve it with shaved ice & coconut milk, but this is served with coconut ice cream, which makes it thicker

Chendol $6.5 is a little bland & the grass jelly is not cut properly.

A group picture before few of us make our way to KBox for KTV session
Front to back (Girls): Angela, Myself, Ivy, Peilian (New) & Cindy
Front to back (Guys): Raymond, Tommy, Joseph, Marcus, Wencai. All of them are new, except for Tommy

Uncle holding the mic sings quite well, but hor.. he must "mic test.. mic test.. 123" before he sing! And at one point when he's halfway singing, he suddenly let out a loud scream.. siao!  Think he singing in concert arh?

After we finished singing a song, he would shout out "ah 来, 掌声鼓励鼓励" ..sound so like 七月歌台 lor)! Hello~~ we're just casually singing lor.. not having a competition or something. We don't need you to 鼓励 us! I also dare to say my singing not bad, I don't need your 掌声 to 鼓励 ok!

And when I'm singing, he suddenly "chap" in to sing the chorus.. what's the meaning?! You want to sing the song, then pick up the mic & sing at the beginning lah.. why must pick up the mic halfway when I'm singing? Trying to hint that my stamina no good issit? @_@

Young chap beside Tommy still not so bad.. quite friendly

Someone hog mic & when it's finally my turn, the system decide to die on me! Hang for about 5 mins & the staff says they'll extend 15 mins for our usage, but... ... we sang an additional 1 hour =D

Cindy super engrossed in some song which I forgot what is it!

OK, since someone hogs mic, I also hog! I end up singing lots of ABBA songs towards the end of the session. Here's a small part of me & Ivy singing Super Trouper =)

After the KTV sessio, few of us (Ivy, Angela, Tommy, Wen Cai & myself) head over to MOF for dinner. I only had a bowl of Red Bean Paste with Japanese Rice Dumpling & a glass of Ice Ribena cos I'm meeting the ATeam for dinner

Danro, by MOF

Sam spotted this hotpot place way back in Jan'13 and pestered us to go for a hotpot session but I couldn't make it then cos sis's previous FDW ran away due to loan dispute with agency.

Now that my office has shifted to Changi, we finally went to this long-time-talk-about Japanese Hotpot session!

3-in-1 concept by MOF @ NEX

The girls were already seated when I reach. We had 2 pots, so we get to choose 4 soup base.

1. Akita wafu broth (cooked with pork, chicken, shrimp and assorted vege) and Nara chicken & milk broth (cooked with milk, chicken, shrimp, onion and other vege).

2. Hokkaido wafu miso broth (cooked with salmon, shrimp, fish balls, radish and other vege) and Shikoku chicken spicy broth (cooked with pork, chicken, shrimp, onion and other vege).

Soup refills are available for self-servie

Apart from the Danro Sambal, I also took 2 of the recommended sauce mix

Some of the food choices we had.

haha.. after dinner, Miss Alyssa was fooling around behind me with the bunny/ victory hand sign

Food selections were wide & fresh. With Sam's member discount, we only paid $25 each. Definitely worth the trouble travelling so far!

Lenas by MOF

Pre-Labour Day dinner with Ivy. She needs to run some errands at Jurong Point, so she dated me for dinner since I'll be working slightly late on month-end.

Met up with her about 7pm and we decided to give Lenas by MOF a try. We were quite lucky as there isn't any queue when we reach & the snake queue started almost immediately we were seated!

2 sets of Menu - 1 from Lenas & 1 from MOF were presented upon seated. Meaning, you can order the Best of Both Worlds!

Simple table setting

I had Iced Mint Lemon Tea w/Ice Cream $6.50 while Ivy had Red Wine $5 (with any ala carte ordered)

Starters to start our meal - Garlic & Butter Escargot $8.80
Simple yet satisfying. Love the over-baked garlic!

Parma Ham & Shrimps Bruschetta $9.80
The dressing on the side is supposed to be for the side salad, but we pour it over the bruschetta. Not quite sure what is the dressing, but it taste like normal oil & vinegar with a hint of Pesto.

Personally, I would prefer if the bread is lightly toasted.

Grilled Dices Salmon in Egg Sauce $14.80
Quite disappointed with this dish as the Salmon is fried before putting into the hot-pan. This cause the Salmon to be over-cooked when it's being served and the hot-pan continues to heat upon serving.

White Wine Vongole Hot-Pan $12.80
Pretty good, but can't find much clams. A lot of empty shells

We also top up $1.50 for a side salad

Food for 2 girls - Not full from the amount of food we had, so we decided to order desserts.

Breaded Banana Brownie Hot Pan $12
I initially wanted it with Melon, but they ran out of stock, so I ordered this. Not for someone w/out sweet tooth cos this is very sweet!

Ivy had Japanese styled Creme Brulee w/mochi & Green Tea Ice Cream $6.80
A bit bland on the Creme Brulee. Not the kind that I would like.

While gossiping after dessert, we found a "drunk" housefly on Ivy's emptied glass of wine! =D
