The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Tsukada Nojo, Koi Kei Bakery & Mei Heong Yuen Dessert

Impromptu dinner date with Angeline, Sam & Theresa @ Tsukada Nojo so Angeline wants to destress from her studies! This is my 3rd visit, so I reckon I don't need to go into details of this restaurant!

Angeline & Theresa were there early, so they went ahead to queue for table first. Me & Sam reached about 6.40pm & we waited about 30mins or so for the table. While waiting, we helped ourselves to the complimentary tidbits! They also took our order when we reached the first in line.

Some pictures before our food arrives

Standard set for the Bijin Nabe

As usual, the waitress will assist in putting the ingredients into the pot

Fried Kagoshima Sweet Potato w/ Honey Vanilla Ice Cream - The sweet potato is very yummy & taste good when dipped into the ice cream

Chicken Nanban

Tori Shumai is yummy too. Minced pork is juicy & goes well with the Japanese soy sauce

Nikumaki Onigiri - we only ordered 3 cos Theresa doesn't eats pork. Sam had the original & Angeline had the cheese while I had the one with Yuzu Pepper. I personally prefers the one with Yuzu Pepper cos it adds a little tangy feel.

Yums!

The waitress brought a little black-heart for us towards the end of out dinner. This is actually seeweed paste & it's to be added into the soup if you would like to change the flavor of the soup

As this is their first visit, they were given appointed as Assistant Manager while I am still the manager. One thing I didn't realize.. the chicken on the card grows as you are promoted.. haha

Complimentary dessert is Orange Lemon Jelly. Something quite unusual as they will usually draws chicken related pictures, but this time, they drew a camera with the note "Thank you fro taking pictures" .. I recko they realized that 4 of us keeps taking pictures of the food throughout the entire dinner! =D

Group picture =)

Cute stuffs at counter

Btw, Bijin Nabe fans, rejoice! Chinatown Point branch now takes reservations on weedays before 7pm. However, do take note that they will only sit you in when all your guests arrives.

Also, Bijin Nabe will be served full-day on weekends at Chinetown Point branch!

Then we went to do some touristy stuff! We went Koi Kei Bakery to buy the famous Almond Cookies & Peanut Candy!

TVB fans will definitely knows about the history of this Bakery as the show 巨輪 is base on the true story of the boss!

I bought the Almond Cookie with Salted Egg Yoke. I'm not a fan of Almond Cookie but this doesn't have the typical almond smell. It tasted more like pork floss thou

Peanut Candy is very nice. Just like how it's being described in the show, it's fragrant, very crunchy & not very sweet. The teeny wheeny bit of black thing you see at the background is the peanut candy with sesame seed.

After doing the touristy stuff, we head opposite to  Mei Heong Yuen Dessert for desserts

Yam Paste. Personally I find the taste ok, but lack of the coconut fragrant. The texture is also too smooth to my liking

Barley & beancurd skin thingy which Sam & Theresa had

We also orded Lychee & Strawberry Watermelon Snow Ice to share. Would be better of ore of the Lychee ice is served. Watermelon is a little bland thou.

I hope Angeline is de-stressed after this makan session!

Melecca Satay Lok Lok Buffet

Fwah! Finally the ATeam's Sunday dinner is not at tze char stall! Kogu found a Lok Lok restaurant online & for the first time, he made reservations for out Sunday dinner!

Malaysia Local Delight - Melecca Satay Lok Lok Buffet

The menu

Types of soup available. Price comes with 2 choices

$26.80nett (adult) on weekend for buffet, inclusive of drinks & desserts. Pretty worth the price tag

Counter - with self service of sauces & self-service rojak is also available

Drinks are also self-service. Self-service for the lok lok ingredients.

Ingredients are fresh & it doesn't have the "fridge" smell which most steamboat buffet places have. However, it would be good if they put in a few more pieces of ingredients per stick.

3 of the sauce I took. 2 stypes of chilli & the yong tau foo sweet sauce. The sweet sauce somehow has one kind of weird taste. Red color chilli taste pretty normal, nothing to rave about. Orange cgilli is good. Taste kind of like the vinegar chilli

2 types of soup to choose from, so we choose Chicken Soup & Penang Prawn Soup. Chicken soup is rather bland while the Penang prawn soup is quite thick & flavorful.

Favorite! This can be very addictive cos no need to dirty your hands & it goes well with the vinegar chili

Nizam, my happy cockles-eating-buddy!

Half-way tru the session, we decided to change the chicken soup to satay sauce (+$5)

Satay sauce is a little watery, probably cos we changed into it in the middle of the session. Should be better if we choose this right at the beginning.

We will be back again to try other dishes & probably give the satay sauce a 2nd chance cos we saw the pot from the next table looks very thick!

Tsukada Nojo & Miam Miam

Met up with Jaslyn at Westgate for dinner on Thursday. I wanted to try Eggs & Berries but she's not keen, so we decide to Tsukada Nojo cos she wanted to try but none of her friends are keen.

We were there at about 6.45pm and there was already a queue, but we didn't wait too long for a seat. We were seated at about 7.15pm

A selfie of us while in the queue. She says she got serious breakout, so I used InstaBeauty for a soft tone so that her pimples are not so obvious. Then I act cute a bit, added some My Melody stuffs using The Line Camera

We ordered the standard set of Bijin Nabeh (Collagen Hotpot) for 2

Jaslyn, being her first visit, is being appointed Assistant Manager

I'm promoted to Manager as this is my 2nd visit

To celebrate my promotion, I get an appetizer FREE!

I choose the Maximum Potato over Edamame cos I'm not a fan of it. Potato seasoned with Kyushu. Check out the cute icons drawn on the condiments served. Apple on the ketchup & banana on honey mustard

Also ordered Nikumaki Onigiri & Nikumaki Onigiri with Yuzu pepper & Mayo

Chicken Nanban (Original) served with Homemade Tartar Sauce. But seriously, I feels it tastes like Egg Mayo =)

Smiley face sesame paste for you to add in to your soup for flavoring but we didn't use cos the soup is very sweet

We even ask for extra soup. If I remember correctly, you can only refill the soup once

Today's Chicken with complimentary Ice Lemon Tea Jelly

Then we went Miam Miam for dessert.

Chocolate Molleaux. Unfortunately, it's just pretty to look at. The Vanilla ice cream is bland & it's quite dry in the middle.

Jaslyn's French Toast. No complains from her so I reckon it's decent
