Lunch at LUCE, International Hotel with the ladies cos JJ wants to pass us souvenir from her recent US trip & we celebrated her birthday too. Food selection, quality & taste was good but service …. 🤔
Reservation was made last week & indicated “Birthday Celebration” on their website. But when we called one day before around 8pm to confirm if they can arrange for a complimentary cake, the reply was “the complimentary cake request has to come in one day ahead, before 6pm. No outside cake is allowed, so we suggest you buy it from Lobby Lounge”
What? Most restaurants (especially buffets a wide selection of desserts) will have it prepared when they see indication of “birthday celebration” on the reservation. Even if your request comes on the actual day, it also not an issue.
This is the first time in my many years of buffet/ hi-tea experience I encountered such policy.. even the staff at Lobby Lounge also 🙄 when she heard about it.
To make things more unpleasant, one of my friend spotted that the staff had the intention to just bring the box of cake to the table & had to rush over to inform the staff to serve the cake on a plate 🤦🏻♀️
But nevertheless, we still enjoy the meet-up cos it’s the company that counts.. just that we're missing Ivy who is holidaying in Spain❤️
