milkfrost's world

The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Nyonya & Baba Peranakan

Went for a morning walk with Ivy at Labrador Park, which again, I'll blog about it separately. Since our walk ended at Vivo, we asked Whye Wan to join us for lunch. While he makes his way to Vivo, we decided to pick Nyona & Baba for lunch

Prawn cracker & Achar (preserved vegetables) were served once we're being seated. Sambal belacan is also being served, so we dip the crackers into it. Sambal belacan is smelly & spicy is nice, but definitely not the best I've had.

Lime juice is refreshing

Bakwang Kepeting to start the lunch. Meatball made with minced pork & seafood simmered in broth with bamboo shoot is sweet & light

Nyonya Ngo Hiang is a must-try. Minced meat & prawn with chestnut wrapped in crispy beancurd skin. It's specially nicer when dip in sweet sauce

Sambal Sotong is a little sweet and the squid is nicely done; not chewy

Ayam Buah Keluah (No picture cos the only pix I had was blur) - Juicy chicken with black nut sauce. Chicken is very tender & the sauce is sweet & spicy

Nyonya Chap Chye is simmered tol very soft. Nice

Otak-Otak on the other hand taste very normal

Kueh Pisang - the banana in it is sightly raw, so I ordered a Chendol. Just the right amount of gula meleka so it's not too sweet

Service here is quite prompt & friendly also. I'll be be back if I'm craving for Nyona Food
