milkfrost's world

The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

TEL4 Public Preview | Exploring TEL w/Wendy

Checking out the 7 new TEL stations with Wendy today cos I happened to be off and she is still on school holiday
Passed by my old secondary school compound cos one of the new station is just 1 bus stop away. The original building is still standing on the same ground but it's no longer the same Chai Chee Secondary School. It is now Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

Starting our adventure at Bayshore MRT Station.
Nothing much available except for condos/ landed property. Probably useful only if you're heading to those Chinese restaurants located along Upper East Coast Road if you're not residents within the area. Oh, the station also has quite a huge space for indoor bicycle parking.

Spotted DPM Mr Heng Swee Keat giving out appreciation award to the artist who drew the mural along the walkway.
As I was about to walk away, the emcee called out for all residents to crowd around Mr Heng Swee Keat for group wefie and I happened to get a spot just beside him. I'm not a big fan but since I'm just standing him, don't waste the chance in grabbing a selfie with him lah! 😂 *uncle standing beside me very angry & keep staring at me leh.. after I walked away, he quickly went up to Mr Heng!

Next stop, Siglap MRT Station.
Another landed property area but quite a bit of eateries around the vicinity. However, I feel buses are more accessible to those eateries.

We managed to play 2 games to get some freebies at this station.
Of cos our main target in mind are the Thoughtful Bunch! This is the only station where all 5 of them will make an appearance!Pretty good crowd control here. Everyone followed the emcee's instruction on the queuing in order for everyone to get a good shot with the bunch. Emcee also make exception for wheelchair bound residents to grab photo first.

This is also the only station with ball sculptures of the Thoughtful BunchDownloaded the SCDF MyResponder app for free tote bagTime for lunch!

We checked out of the MRT station and went to La Saigon Cafe for lunch

Hot Chocolate, Drip Coffee, Beef Pho & Crispy Pork Baguette. For those not feeling hungry or loves variety, you might wanna grab the petite size baguette. But be warned, it's really petite (maybe about 3 inches in length)
Register for member and collect points for rewards. Since we probably might not visit anytime soon, Wendy redeem the mini croissant with her existing points.
Marine Terrace MRT Station
Nothing much around apart from some flats, condos, schools & near a hawker center. Good if your kids are studying around this area. Got a free towel from registering some online learning course.
Marine Parade MRT Station
Probably one of the most interesting station cos we finally see a shopping mall when we exit! Station has got the longest and biggest ground space, sheltered underground bicycle parking lot.

However, I don't quite understand why out of 6 exits, none of it leads directly to any part of Parkway Parade sheltered
Anyway, this is also the place where I started my very first part-time job at McDonald's in 1989! Is the McDonald's still there?
Tanjong Katong MRT station
Station with the widest platform for don't know what reason 😅Katong Park MRT Station
Again, both stations are mostly landed properties/ condos nearby. Probably good if you're planning to visit eateries along Katong area. Also, both stations are quite near apart cos both stations has an exit that leads to same area (which I can't recall what's the exact place)

Lastly, Tanjong Rhu MRT Station
Condos around too, but at least you can cross the bridge & over to National/ Indoor Stadium & Kallang Wave Mall. Convenient for concert goers & probably ease the congestion at Stadium MRT Station on concert/ event days.
Completed our exploration of TEL4 Public PreviewWalked over to the Tanjong Rhu Lookout Tower.
If my memory don't fail me, there used to be a small bar at the bottom of the tower where me & a couple of my McD's friends used to hang out here after closing shift and stayed till early morning to catch the first bus home 😂 .. But I've never gotten the change to go up the tower cos it's always closed at night.

Today I finally got the chance to go up the tower!
Thanks Wendy for staying at the bottom to help me capture the moment 😂View from the towerContinue to cross over the Tanjong Rhu bridge to Kallang Wave Mall. Wendy says this reminds her of Balarang Bridge at Batam 😂

And finally, dinner before we end our day!
Thanks Wendy for spending the day exploring with me 😊
