The brand new virtual world of Milkfrost - formally (milkfrost.multiply.com)

The reason why this blog is created is because Multiply.com is shutting down & all posts will be removed. Some posts here are back-dated from Aug 2004 - Aug 2012! I'm just doing a screen-shot & re-posting slowly cos it ain't easy to import every single photo. Therefore, only thumbnails are available for viewing, which also explains the white background & the little note at the end.

Tamil New Year

According to the Hindu calendar, 14 Apr 13 was Tamil New Year. I didn't know about it till my Indian friend, Kogu told me about it. Since it's Tamil New Year, he invited us over to his place for some traditional home-cooked Indian vegetarian food cooked by his mum.

As usual, my group of friends (A-Team) are Always late, so I decided to appear late as well! Instead of being there at 4pm, I was there at 5.30pm. Surprisingly, Mike was already there. Usually I'm the first to arrive even thou I'm 1.5hrs late! Jenny's bro was not there yesterday, so there is not enough kaki (leg) for mahjong, so Mike & myself just sit around and play with the Kogu & Jenny's boys.

Heeran is already 8 months old, & he's already on walker. Kogu says he's a lazy bump cos he doesn't likes to crawl when he's being left on the floor. He will use his "big eye" charm to make you carry him.

So jealous of his big eye!

Keeren will be 4 next month, is in nursery class now, engross in writing a Birthday card for Samy (God) cos it's New Year! hahaha

Then he suddenly divert attention to puzzles! His attention is very short-lived, and he diverts attention to another toy easily.

Finally mahjong kaki (leg) came! Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. My mahjong kaki is very multi-racial cos it includes Chinese, Muslim & Indian! My entire group of A-team can play mahjong. Thanks to Mike (the uncle on top) the Mahjong Master! He had a 2 Indians & 2 Muslim disciple!

Halfway tru mahjong, we stopped for dinner cos food is ready

We had Pumpkin Sambal, Fried Snake Gourd, Mock Mutton & Vegetable Curry

Assam soup, Sambal Tofu, Fried Chili (This is very salty!) & Wadeh

For the first time, my entire plate is full of veggie! Except for the 2 pc of Papadam

Haha.. Jenny being kind, went down to buy some Fried Chicken Wing

Kogu's mum also made dessert - Payasam

After dinner, we resume our mahjong session. Sadly, I only game 3x during the entire session. But due to one of the game is self-game with 5 power, I won $20 at the end of the session

Stopped for some desserts bought by Prakash & Fizah

They bought Chocolate Mousse & D24 Durian Puffs from Emicakes (I ate 1 pc & I still have the Durian smell in my mouth when I burp now!)

Wanted to end the game, but Kogu wanted to play, so we played on for another round. Jenny played for awhile cos Kogu needs to go out to meet a friend. Again, my lucky seat not working this time & I lost $10. I could have lost more if Nizam didn't pay for all on the last game!

Again, thanks Kogu & Jenny for being great hosts!

Happy New Year, Tamils!

Diwali Visiting

Diwali (Deepavali) is a time for me to go Kogu & Jenny's house for visiting like I mentioned on my previous post. At the same time, as a family friend, I also go to few of their relative's house for visiting. This year I skipped his mum's house cos by the time I finish work, they he left his mum's place already.

Here'e Keeren wishing everyone Happy Diwali =)

First stop; Kumunan's house. Ths is quite a unique Indian house cos the decor is very Chinese.

Second stop; Aunty Sue's house, which happens to be just above Kumunan's. This is her super obedient & well behaved Golden Retriever - Sandee. We didn't dine here cos Kumunan's mum already prepared food for us, so we just sit around and chat for a while before heading back down to Kumunan's for late lunch.

Back at Kumunan'shouse for late lunch

We then proceed to bring some food over to one of the the fish farm at Lim Chu Kang. That's where Kogu will gets his Sheng Yu daily. One the way there, we met with a little accident. One mini lorry suddenly stop at  the T-junction & started reversing. Kogu already horn at him, but the driver continues to reverse & bang onto Kogu's car! Damn.. my heart almost drop out cos I'm siting at front seat! Kogu went to reason out with the driver & drove off after taking some pictures to claim insurance from the other party. He then calle dthe insurance company to make a report.

Back at Kogu's place, Keeren was happily drawing & playing with myself & 2 of Jenny's colleagues.

Round 2 - Kogu tabao-ed food from his mum's place

And what else is new? Mahjong after dinner lah.. 1 of Jenny's colleague is very new in mahjong, so we only play 20ct-40ct! She is so slow & makes lots of funny mistakes till we were all stressed up! after 3 rounds, my overall wining is only $5

Before I head home, Jenny tabao-ed for me 2 tubs of her MIL's homemade Murukku, and some sambal chicken & mutton curry for sis & BIL

And I also picked up my Isoyaki Scallop that Jenny's brother help me buy from Aji Ichan at Hong Kong airport~

Yipee.. with all the goodies, I'm a happy girl for now~~

Heeran's Naming Ceremony

Kogu & Jenny welcomes their 2nd baby boy on 16 Aug 2012, and we were invited to attend the baby's Naming Ceremony

I was the first to reach, so I took a few pictures with the kor kor, K. Keeren Yan Zhe

While the grandma was preparing the stuffs for ritual, I went on to take picture with the 2 Chinese-Indian boys

Soon, the ceremony is about to begin. Here's the stuffs prepared for the ritual. all items are to be placed on the floor of the baby's room

and mummy has to start the ritual, followed by both grandmas & all other aunties in the room (okay, only females are allowed in the room)!

once everyone's done, its baby's turn to pray! baby has to be naked & placed on the floor during the ritual. Supposedly, the baby has the be hold upside-down & swing on top of the stuffs during the ritual, but this time, it was more simple. The lady in-charge of doing it carry the baby upright & just go round the stuffs. After which, the baby's aunty will have to dress up the baby & to call the baby by the name into his ear!

and so... ... the baby is now officially known as Heeran Yan Kai K.

As the rice & curry used for the ritual is only meant for ladies to eat, Kogu's mum cooked other dishes for all other guests. That includes her specialty: mutton curry, sambal chicken & sambal prawn!

after dinner, we had chocolates from Shangri-La & wine from the hamper sent to Jenny by a Minister! Prakash is arrowed to open the wine cos Kogu has no idea how to do it! haha
