Tooth Implant - Phase 1

If you've been reading my blog, I'm sure you remembered that I got my tooth implant on the right done back in Jun 13. Every problematic teeth on the right side is fixed, so I'm getting those problematic teeth on the left fixed! 

I went for surgery in Dec 13 to remove 1 decayed wisdom tooth & 2 broken teeth on the left. Today, I'm back for Phase 1 tooth implant for the 2 broken teeth which I removed.

After the process. Face is kind of swollen on the left, and am already feeling the pain even before the anesthetic wear off. The last time I did, the pain lasted for about a week & causes me gastric. I hope this time, the pain is not as bad. But then again, it's 2 implants this time, so the pain will be double! 

When home, the pain is getting as little bad, so I decided to take a nap, with ice pack on my face to reduce the swell

Woke up from the nap & feels slightly better, so I took a picture of the screws in my gum =D

It's still painful after the nap, but am able to get some food intake before medications. Thought of  getting the maid to cook porridge but gotta avoid hot food for the moment, so am munching on bread slowly

Going back on Monday evening for a review. Next stage will be 4 months later for getting mold done before crowning.

Tooth Implant Done!

Yeah! Finally done with my first tooth implant for the decayed tooth on the 4th tooth on top right! 

Extraction was done in Oct 12, I went for Phase 1 of the implant to fix the screw into my gum in Jan 13. Supposed to go back for Phase 2 to fix another screw in May 13 but only get it one last week. Today, Phase 3 of the implant - Crowning is finally done! The entire process took me about 9 months!

Seriously, I didn't check how much is being deducted from my Medisave (roughly about $3k according to the dentist), but I paid $300 for the crown

Now that the missing tooth on the right is fixed, its time to plan for the 2 broken teeth on the left. Dentist suggested doing root canal on the 4th top left tooth & implant for the 5th top left tooth. Entire process for 2 teeth is gonna cost about $300 cash (crowning) + $1k (root canal) + about $3k from Medicave (for implant)

Back from Dentist

Just got back from dentist! 

Went to extract both wisdom tooth & a broken tooth on the right in October'12 and at the same time opt for tooth implant to fill the hole creates by the broken tooth. 

Stage 1 of the implant was done in January'13, which is close to 4 months after the extraction of the broken tooth. 

I'm supposed to be back for the Stage 2 last month (4 months after Stage 1 of inserting the screw), but due to work commitment, I only manage to get it done yesterday. Yesterday's visit was to insert another screw to the existing screw, and to take the size & shape of the hole so that they can send the mold to get the crown fixed!

This is before the visit to dentist. 

After the visit - additional screw inserted to the previous one and the screw is more visible. Now I'm ready for the crowning. Next appointment with the dentist is on 19th to fix the crown.

Stage 1

Went for surgery in Oct 12 to remove the broken tooth on the right & also opt for implant to replace the missing tooth. Today, I'm back for access to see if I can get the screw fixed.

I'm done with Stage 1, fixing of the screw into the gum. gotta go for review next week to see if the wound heals properly before I can proceed to fix the crown in 4 months time

Slightly swollen on the right side of the face due to implant process! 

Dr Dennis Tiong is on 3 weeks leave starting from this Saturday, so another doctor will be removing the stitches for me. Hopefully he's as gentle as Dr Dennis

Extraction of Wisdom Tooth

Finally, I went to extract the 2 decayed wisdom teeth on the right! I also extracted the broken tooth on the top right. 

I went to this Dental Trendz at Jurong Point & it's so much faster than I expected. It only took the dentist 30 mins to remove all the 3 teeth & I don't even feel anything during the process!

All the 3 teeth are already decayed, so it needs to be removed via surgery! Since it's surgery, I can opt to make payment via Medisave & it's 100% claimable! 

Dentist asked if I wanna bring the balance of the decayed teeth back, I said "No, I just need to take picture of it!" haha

Surprisingly, even the medication also no need to pay cash! 

As for now, it's still slightly numb on the affected areas, & I'm just hoping that the pain will not be bad as I expected! Also hoping that it'll recover fast so that I can feast at Canivore on Friday evening with some of The Girls =)

Going back to the Dentist on next Monday evening to remove the stitches & at the same time gotta ask the Dentist on the charges if I were to do an Implant on the top right lobang!

After the right side is done, I'll need to remove the decayed top left wisdom tooth & 2 more broken teeth on top left! Oh my! I have a super bad set of teeth. Thanks to my laziness & my disliking of brushing teeth during Primary School days! 

To all the kids out there, if you happen to read this, please brush your teeth daily & visit your dentist regularly. Don't be like me! Going thru this is not a joke!

Total cost = $260 but after insurance paying 80%, I only pay $52

Dentist says the hole is quite deep, if it hurts after filling is done, will need to do root canal treatment! 

Next, gotta check if the insurance covers surgery to remove decay tooth & implant! Shall call insurance company after CNY
