Ivy's Birthday @ La Taperia & Brotzeit

Another birthday celebration. Today's celebration si with the Voodoos for Ivy's birthday. As requested by birthday girl, we're having dinner at La Taperia (former Terry's), latest Spanish restaurant located on the 2nd storey of Shaw Centre
Table settingWhile waiting for KW to arrive, let's take a wefie first =)Too thirsty, so I ordered a coke first before anything else =DSangria for all of us, but well... ... don't quite understand why is it being served in such a jar. It somehow looks very much like a normal drink in those HK cafe
We ordered 1 cold tapas, 2 warm tapas & 2 main dish for sharing. All tapas are served in 2 sizes - Regular for 2-3 people while the large portion is good for 4-6 people.
We started off with a cold tapas - Iberico Platter served with pan con tomate (Ham platter w/grilled baguette w/tomato & olive oil) As not everyone is into cold ham, we ordered the regular portion for this. Grilled baguette is very crispy & a little sweet while all 3 types of ham is a little salty to be eaten on it's ownWe were given a small portion of tiny baguette, but what is it for?Ah-ha! It's to be wrapped & eat it with ham to reduce the saltiness of hamWarm tapas - Gambas Al Ajillo. (Sizzling Spanish spicy & garlicky prawns cooked in virgin olive oil). Prawn is fresh, firm & sort of crunchy. It may looks simple but it's very addictive. It was polished off (right down to the garlic) within 3 mins! As we're all mushroom lover, how can we miss the warm tapas right? Champinones Con Jamon Al Ajillo (Fresh mushrooms & garlic silvers sauteed in extra olive oil w/Jaon Serrano crowned w/an organic egg yolk). Baguette is available (chargeable) upon requestGoogy egg yolk, mushrooms, warm crispy baguette.. what else can go wrong right? Super-Cochinillo Confit (suckling pig confit served w/calanda peaches, caramelized shallots & steakhouse potatoes) Me trying to rip the pig apart for everyone to tasteHaha.. no lah, action only. The meat is very tender & it's easily being cut apart. Super crispy skin too! Highly recommended dish!Paella Negra De Marisco (Squid ink seafood paella)Check out the generous amount of prawns & clams!Cheers to the birthday girl!Helado de aceitunas Negras Confitadas (Black olive confit ice cream bathed in raisin cream showered with albarino syrup) I didn't try this cos I ain't a fan of raisin, but no complains from the rest.Haha.. all caught snapping picture of the ice creamAfter dessert, staff spring out the surprise cake & flower which I bought before meeting the girlsBerry Berries which I bought from Flor Patisserie. Very photogenic cake I must say =)Happy Birthday, Ivy =)A proper group pictureAfter dinner, we head over to Brotzeit for some boozeYeah... cheers to weekend!Hope you enjoyed the night & thanks for the booze!Once again... ... Happy Birthday, Ivy & may all your dreams comes true =)
